Italy: AIFS Global Education Center in Florence

Spend a semester or academic year in the artistically and culturally rich city of Florence, Italy, with AIFS Abroad! Choose from a wide variety of courses at the AIFS Global Education Center with credit awarded by Fairfield University.

Where You'll Study

The AIFS Global Education Center in Florence is in the heart of the historic center. It is within walking distance of the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio and Accademia as well as numerous stores, restaurants and trattoria. Located in the AIFS Abroad Center is a Resident Director and Student Advisors to help scholars adjust to life in Italy. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building and there are a small number of computers for student use/printing. Academic credit for the AIFS Florence program is awarded by Fairfield University.

  • Earn up to 16 credits per semester studying abroad in Florence; no previous Italian language study is required.
  • Live in an Italian home or student apartment.
  • Choose from three available programs: Traditional Academic Program | Fashion Management and Marketing Program (spring semester only) | Internship Program (additional requirements/criteria apply).
  • Enjoy cultural and social activities such as visits to museums, art galleries, churches and theaters, plus course-related field trips, wine tasting and cooking classes, gelato tasting, walking tours and more; volunteer opportunities are also available.
  • Excursions include a multi-day field trip to Rome, a 2-day visit to Venice and a day trip to Siena.
  • A 2-night tour of London, England, is included for students on the AIFS Flight Package.
  • Tuition and transcripts provided by Richmond University in Florence.
