PLNU Scholarships

PLNU Study Abroad Scholarships

Soon after the study abroad application deadline, all accepted students are invited to apply to these scholarship programs. Most of our scholarships support students with demonstrated financial need to help defray additional costs associated with an abroad program and make study abroad accessible to as many PLNU students as possible.

1. Class of 1949 Endowed Scholarship for Study Abroad

Over a decade ago, the Pasadena/Point Loma Class of 1949 very generously donated an endowment to be used specifically to assist students studying abroad.
Scholarships of up to $1000 are now available to students!

Eligibility

Student must be approved to study abroad by the PLNU SAO for a fall, summer or spring program (preference given to full semester students)
Student must be enrolled full-time at PLNU
Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
Student must have filed a FAFSA
Student must have demonstrated financial need

Award:

Up to $1,000 for a semester program

2. PLNU Study Abroad Office Scholarship

Eligibility:

Applicant must be participating as an approved student on an approved study abroad program.
Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Applicant must have filed a FAFSA and have demonstrated financial need.

3. PLNU Mobile Journalist Scholarship

Be a part of storytelling through the use of social media using a portable electronic device such as your mobile phone. Capture your study abroad experience through pictures and posts to be distributed back to the PLNU community. We’d like the scholarship recipient to collect, edit and post short videos, articles, and pictures each week of their time abroad.

Award:

$200/summer
$300/semester

PLNU Affiliate Scholarships

AIFS-PLNU Scholarship
Point Loma Nazarene University, in partnership with AIFS Study Abroad is pleased to offer a scholarship opportunity for PLNU students studying on AIFS programs. Must have completed PLNU and AIFS study abroad applications. Priority is given to students with demonstrated financial need.

CEA-PLNU Scholarship
Point Loma Nazarene University, in partnership with CEA is pleased to offer a scholarship opportunity for PLNU students studying on CEA programs. Must have completed PLNU & CEA study abroad applications. Priority is given to students with demonstrated financial need.

SAI-PLNU Scholarship
Point Loma Nazarene University, in partnership with SAI is pleased to offer a scholarship opportunity for PLNU students studying on SAI programs. Must have completed PLNU & SAI study abroad applications. Priority is given to students with demonstrated financial need.

API-PLNU Scholarship
Point Loma Nazarene University, in partnership with API is pleased to offer a scholarship opportunity for PLNU students studying on API programs. Must have completed PLNU & API study abroad applications. Priority is given to students with demonstrated financial need.
